Adam Nitti Releases His Eagerly Anticipated New Album, “Liminal.”
Nashville, TN, 4/1/09 – For Immediate Release
Powerhouse bassist, solo artist, producer, and music educator AdamĀ Nitti has just released “Liminal,” his 4th and most groundbreaking CD to date, on March 25, 2009. Completely written, arranged, and produced by Nitti, “Liminal” features an international all-star cast of musicians performing a collection of instrumental songs masterfully blending elements of Jazz/Fusion, Funk, R&B, Rock, and Blues. The album is currently available in CD and digital formats and can be ordered directly from Nitti’s website at www.adamnitti.com, as well as from www.cdbaby.com, www.abstractlogix.com, www.guitarnine.com, and iTunes.
Adam Nitti has been establishing himself as a multi-talented bass-wielding frontman for nearly 2 decades. His first 3 releases, “Liquid Blue,” “Balance,” and “Evidence” earned him worldwide acclaim and marked his reputation as one of the most respected electric bassists of our time. His most recent and most eagerly-anticipated CD, “Liminal,” comes after a seven year period following the release of his 3rd CD, “Evidence.” Based out of Nashville, Tennessee, Adam divides his career evenly between recording sessions, bass clinics, and live performances, but his passion for pursuing his artistry shines through on his “Liminal” CD. As with his prior releases, Nitti once again takes on 3 roles as sole composer, arranger, and producer, and “Liminal” does nothing short of delivering his triple-threat intertwined in a masterful blend of groove and melodicism. Although this latest release will certainly live up to the task of delivering high-powered and virtuosic performances to the most chops-hungry Adam Nitti fans, longtime listeners will be introduced to a deeper and more introspective side of the artist… One from which many of the compositions come across as more ‘organically-grown,’ with more of an emphasis on the pocket, as well as compositional integrity.
“It has been seven years since the release of my last album, and in that time I have experienced a lot of things that have changed me and ultimately influenced my music,” Nitti explains. “Although it was never part of my plan to wait this long to release my 4th CD, I have to say that had I released it sooner, it probably would not have told as complete a story as it tells now. It is the story of surrender and the release of expectations, and the unexpected blessings subsequently resulting from that process. It is my most transparent and honest musical expression to date, and my hope is that my experiences and emotions will somehow be communicated to the listener when they hear each track.
Nitti assembled an international force of extraordinary musicians for his latest effort, including Italian phenoms Marco Sfogli (guitar) and Alex Argento (keyboards), Germany’s Marco Minnemann (drums), and the U.K.’s Tom Quayle (guitar). Also appearing: Veteran virtuosos Jeff Coffin (tenor sax), Phil Keaggy (guitar), Shane Theriot (guitar), Steve Cunningham (lap steel), Michael Whittaker (keyboards), Marcus Finnie (drums), Doug Belote (drums), and Johnny Neel (Hammond B-3).
“The sheer talent displayed by this collection of musicians made my job as producer quite easy.” Nitti adds. “For this album, I wanted each player to have complete freedom to follow their own instincts. The result is a collection of tunes that reflects a true ensemble production, as opposed to an album that just sounds like it is centered around the bass player.”
